The currently existing structures have been developed in three distinct stages over 1900. In the 30s born the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mastership and Mining Engineering; after World War II follow Humanities, University Student House and the "Citadel of Museums." In the 80 was launched in Monserrato the construction of the new university campus and hospital.
The progressive growth of the university led to the current configuration in 6 faculties and 17 departments that make up the university organization’s operational units responsible for achieving the primary objectives of the university: research and teaching, to the high demand service required by today’s society of knowledge innovation.
