Institute of Technology Carlow – a university level institute of technology - is the second largest of Ireland's 11 Institutes of Technology with more than 8,000 students and 850 staff.
Internationally recognised programmes from Foundation Year to PhD level across faculties of Engineering, Science and Business & Humanities.
The institute is celebrating 50 years this year – over 55,000 have graduated since its founding in 1970.
The majority of our students study on full-time Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees.
IT Carlow also has the biggest faculty of Lifelong Learning in Ireland, providing programmes for students who are studying and working simultaneously.
IT Carlow is ranked in the top tier of high-performing, university-level institutions by the Higher Education Authority and is on its way to joining WIT to become the Technological University of the Southeast of Ireland. Institute of Technology Carlow holds title of ‘Best for Sport’ for the second year running.
