Lund University was founded in 1666 and is repeatedly ranked among the world's top 100 universities. The university has around 46 000 students and 8 400 staff. Lund University is also ranked as one of the most international universities in the world. In fact, 27% of our student body are international students from over 130 countries around the world. Lund is considered one of the most popular study locations in Sweden. The University offers one of the broadest ranges of programmes and courses in Scandinavia, based on cross-disciplinary and cutting-edge research. We offer over 130 Master's degree programmes and 9 Bachelor's degree programmes within a wide range of subject areas. All programmes are taught fully in English. Lund is also home to the world's foremost research facilities for materials research and life sciences - the synchrotron radiation facility MAX IV and the European Spallation Source (ESS), the world's most powerful neutron source, which will be fully operational by the end of 2027.
