Scholarships :

There are several different scholarships on offer for competetive applicants. Lund University's own Global Scholarship (LUGS) covers part or up to the full tuition fee. The Swedish Institute (SI) scholarship covers the full tuition fee, as well as pays out a monthly stipend and covers travel costs to Sweden, etc. Lastly, Lund University partners with LPDP to provide incoming students with these scholarship opportunities, too.

Living Costs :

Living costs vary between individuals, but we calculate that the average student will spend 9 000 – 12 000 SEK per month. In order to be eligible for a Swedish residence permit for studies, students must have access to approx 11 000 SEK per month.

Work :

Students have the right to work unlimited hours outside of their studies (so long as they study full-time and achieve the neccessary credits), however, we do not recommend more than part-time to the often demanding adademic schedule. The city of Lund offers many different part-time positions suitable for students, however, competition for these jobs can be tough. International students who have found part-time work have often had some previous work experience from their home countries and have been able to use their knowledge and skills to compete for jobs in Sweden. Moreover, internships are a common part of a programme structure, in order to help the student network and gain valuable work experience.

Life After Studies :

Lund University's Alumni Network has over 47 000 members and is a free professional and social network for all those who have studied at Lund University. It is a great resource for graduates in their careers and helps them to stay in touch with Lund University, while also making new contacts. Students who have completed their studies are eligible to apply for a job-seeking permit in order to remain in Sweden for one year post-graduation. Once a job has been found, it's easy to apply for a work, reseracher or PhD permit depending on your assignments.
