The University of New York in Prague was established in April 1998 in cooperation with the State University of New York, New Paltz, and the State University of New York Empire State College. UNYP is the largest and most prominent English-language higher education institution in the Czech Republic.
UNYP uses the American style and approach to teaching students how to think not simple memorization. The class sizes are kept small under 30 students to facilitate discussion and critical thinking. Many classes use real life case studies and situations to illustrate learning through experience and critical thinking.
