Overview :

Founded in 1990, the University of Oradea is a comprehensive public university in north-western Romania. It comprises 15 faculties, 50 departments and 7 doctoral schools, with 22,070 students and 887 tenured academic staff (2025 data).

In 2025–2026, 590 international students from 65 countries studied at UO. The University offers 102 bachelor's programmes, 68 master's programmes and 25 doctoral fields; 14 degree programmes are taught in English for international candidates (9 bachelor's and 5 master's).

UO holds ARACIS's High Degree of Confidence institutional rating for 2024–2029 and is a member of the EU GREEN European University Alliance. Its Oradea campus provides teaching and research facilities, an encyclopaedic library, six student dormitories, student services, sports facilities, career counselling and access to clinical and professional practice.

The University maintains international relations with 752 institutions in 119 countries.
