Triple UK Top Ten
Lancaster University is placed among the top ten universities in the UK, being ranked 8th in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2020, 7th in The Guardian University Guide 2020 and 7th in The Complete University Guide 2020.
The University is committed to solving major global problems through research and teaching, with 83% of our research ranked as ‘internationally excellent and world leading’ in the most recent Research Excellence Framework. We’ve invested heavily into our campus since 2003, putting over £500m into new academic facilities, great teaching spaces and student social facilities, with £200m more planned over the next few years.
Lancaster is one of a handful of collegiate universities in the UK, located close to Manchester and the Lake District. We’ve won the award for 'Best University Halls' for eight times since 2010, and are one of only five institutions in the world to achieve the International Accommodation Quality Mark. Our international community extends far beyond the campus with research, teaching, and exchange partnerships with leading universities and institutions in 26 countries across the world.
Lancaster University has also been named The Times and The Sunday Times, International University of the Year 2020.
