The University of Salamanca was founded in 1218 and is therefore the first of the existing Hispanic universities, in addition to being considered the alma mater of almost 70% of the universities that were created in Spanish-speaking Latin America from Of the fifteenth century. With its almost 800 years of history, it currently has a wide range of training that covers all areas of knowledge and welcomes more than 30,000 students each year in its classrooms.
In Salamanca, the Faculties and Schools are distributed in six campuses, which contribute to give the city the university and monumental environment that makes it known worldwide and which form an ideal space for study in the best conditions. These campuses are the Historical Campus (Humanities), the Campus of Sciences, the Canalejas Campus (Education), Campus Miguel de Unamuno (Biosanitary Campus and Economic, Social and Legal Campus), Campus Ciudad Jardín (Psychology and Fine Arts) and Campus Villamayor (which includes a Science Park with more than 40 companies where the tasks of knowledge transfer are developed to the society).
