The University of Edinburgh is located in Edinburgh city centre, the capital of Scotland. We currently have 41,000 students, 25,000 undergraduate and 16,000 postgraduate. Of the 41,000, 18,000 are international students. We have one of the largest international student cohorts in the UK with students from more than 150 countries.
The University of Edinburgh is one of the UK’s ancient universities and was founded in 1583. It is currently ranked 20th in the World (QS World Ranking 2020-21) and is also a member of the Russell Group- a prestigious group of research-intensive UK Universities. The University is made up of three Colleges: The College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences The College of Science and Engineering The College of Medicine and Vet Medicine We have around 400 Undergraduate degrees, 300 Postgraduate Taught degrees and 135 research areas. The majority of our undergraduate degrees are four years in duration in line with the Scottish system. Vet medicine is 5 years and Medicine is 6 years. Our postgraduate degrees are mostly one year for PGT and 2 or 3 years for Research. Popular subjects for international students include: Business, Economics, International Relations, Psychology, Informatics, Engineering, Medicine and Vet Medicine.
