The Goethe-lnstitut is the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany with a global reach.

We promote knowledge of the German language abroad and foster international cultural cooperation. We convey a comprehensive picture of Germany by providing information on Germany's cultural, social and political life.

The Goethe-lnstitut offers workshops and teacher training seminars for teachers of German as a foreign language, and also provides an extensive examination program. Learning about German life and culture is an integral part of our language courses.

The library of the Goethe-lnstitut in Jakarta, Bandung and Surabaya serves as a resource for those interested in contemporary Germany, and for those interested in teaching and studying German as a foreign language. A large amount of books, videos, audio-cassettes and computer software is available.
