Studying at a university of applied sciences means building up your professional network
from day one. HZ combines theoretical knowledge with company-based assignments:
students interact with professional experts during guest lectures and company visits,
carry out real-life projects and have two semesters of internship during their four-year
studies. An example of such a practical assignment is the student company that all the
students of our Business and Logistics Programmes have to set up and run during their
second year of study.
HZ has positioned itself as an expert in water issues: climate change, coastal defense,
flood control, hydraulic infrastructures and coastal area development are among the
topics taught in our undergraduate study programmes Water Management and Civil
Engineering.
Chemistry, with two specializations Applied Chemistry and Life Sciences, is also a
popular study choice among international students seeking strong connections with the
professional field and the certainty of good job prospects.
HZ has been in the top three of multidisciplinary university of applied sciences since
2011.
