The HHL was founded in April 1898 as a private commercial college on the initiative of the Leipzig Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the German Association for Commercial Education. In 1992, the university was closed under the amendment to the Saxon Higher Education Act. In the same year, the Leipzig Chamber of Industry and Commerce established a private university college of higher education.
“HHL offers a unique blend of tradition and state-of-the art in business education. As the oldest business school in the German speaking countries, it was an innovation driver already in the 19th century. Today, HHL is positioned internationally as one of the leading Business Schools in Europe. We stand for Entrepreneurship, General Management and our mantra as the -personal Business School-”.
