Founded in 1832, Durham University is England’s third oldest university after Oxford and Cambridge. Durham is consistently one of the top ten universities in the UK, it is currently ranked 4th in the prestigious Times and Sunday Times University Guides 2017, and the Guardian University Guide 2018 and 90% of its subjects are in the UK top 10.
Durham is ranked as one of the world’s leading universities as shown by its World Top 100 position in two influential global league tables. In the QS World University Rankings 2016-17, the University is 74th. Durham University is also one of the very few Universities in the UK to have a collegiate system which significantly contributes to the “Durham Difference”, in consistently high levels of student satisfaction.
