SOAS University of London is the only higher
education institution in Europe specialising in the study of Asia, Africa and
the Near and Middle East.
SOAS is situated in the
heart of London in historic Bloomsbury. We are a friendly and vibrant community
with over half our students coming from outside the UK, making us one of the
most international universities in the world.
In the 2018
QS World University Rankings four subject areas across a broad range of disciplines ranked amongst the
world’s top 25.

We offer over 150
Master’s and 350 Undergraduate degrees including Law, Politics, International
Relations, Economics, Finance and Management, Development Studies, History,
Media, Art, Philosophy/Religions, Area Studies and Islamic Studies among
others. We teach over 50 languages of Asia and Africa including Indonesian as
well as other South East Asian languages.
In addition, the
IFCELS department offers foundation, pre-master’s and academic English
programmes with more than 30 years’ experience of preparing students for
university study in the UK. All teaching takes place on the SOAS central London
campus and students are full members of the university.
As a global academic
base SOAS is distinctively positioned to analyse, understand and explain some
of the most challenging issues facing the world today. Our staff and students
alike seek to ask the big questions and challenge conventional thinking.
