EXPERTS I and its successors, EXPERTS II, EXPERTS III, EXPERTS4Asia, and EXPERTS – SUSTAIN, are scholarship projects funded by the European Commission targeted at citizens of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Indonesia, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and Thailand. The EXPERTS Partnership includes 7 European and 13 South and South-East Asian (SSEA) Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) from 12 Asian countries. The academic levels supported by the project are Undergraduate, Master, PhD, Post-Doctoral and Staff.
The projects aim to focus on excellence in technical fields and strengthen mobility in a wide range of disciplines, such as Agricultural and Environmental Studies; Engineering Technology; Health & Medical Studies; Social Development; Regional Development, Poverty & Growth; and Law.
Applicants must first identify themselves which Target Group (TG1, TG2, TG3) they belong in. The three TGs distinguishes its applicants by their academic status and national conditions.
The duration of the programme is 6 months for undergraduates, 6-10 months for doctoral students, for one month for staffs. Whereas for Master and PhD-level students, their studying duration varies whether they choose the exchange program (6-10 months for both levels) or the full degree program (10-24 months for Master, 36 months for PhD).

EXPERTS scholarship covers monthly subsistence allowances as below:
- 1,000 € for Undergraduate/Masters
- 1,500 € for PhD
- 1,800 € for Post-Doc
- 2,500 € for Staff
They also provide insurance coverage for the period of the mobility, travel costs (one return ticket) as well as tuition fee (participation costs) at the host university.
