The member universities of Finland University offer generous scholarships to reward the most talented students for their achievements. A substantial number of full and partial scholarships will be available for fee-paying students – these will vary depending on the chosen university.

The University of Eastern Finland

The University of Eastern Finland will have a substantial number of scholarships available for students who are required to pay tuition fees in Master’s degree programmes offered in English. The scholarships will be available for the most talented fee-paying students. The scholarship can cover the tuition fee either in full (100%) or partially (80%).

University of Turku

The University of Turku offers a generous scholarship programme for students who are subject to tuition fees. The scholarship programme has 3 categories:

• 2-year scholarship that covers the entire tuition fee for 2 academic years.
• 2-year scholarship that covers 50 % of the tuition fee for 2 academic years.
• 1-year scholarship for outstanding performance during the 1st study year. The scholarship covers the 2nd year tuition fee.

A scholarship will be granted to up to 30 % of the admitted students who are subject to pay tuition fees and have applied for scholarship. Students can apply for a 2-year scholarship at the same time as applying for admission to one the Master’s degree programmes of the University of Turku. There is a separate application process for the 1-year scholarship during a student’s first study year.

University of Tampere The University of Tampere Scholarships Programme – intended for students who are required to pay tuition fees in Master’s degree programmes offered in English – will be implemented as of autumn 2017. A substantial number of scholarships will be available for the most talented fee-paying students. The scheme consists of two scholarship categories:

• The University of Tampere tuition fee scholarships cover either 100% or 50% of the tuition fees in a two-year Master’s degree programme.  
• The University of Tampere global student award for academic excellence scholarships cover 100% of the tuition fees and include a €7,000 annual scholarship to cover the student’s living expenses during the two-year Master’s degree programme.

Åbo Akademi University

Åbo Akademi University has launched a scholarship programme for tuition fee-paying students admitted to Åbo Akademi University. The scholarships are connected to the study entitlement and can only be used to pursue studies within the programme the student has been admitted to.

Åbo Akademi University has three scholarship categories:

• Full Scholarship, covering the tuition fee and includes a annual scholarship to cover the student’s living expenses (€6,720), awarded for 2 years (second year conditional)
• Tuition Fee Scholarship, covering 100 % of the tuition fee, awarded for 2 years (second year conditional)Tuition Fee Scholarship, covering 50 % of the tuition fee, awarded for 2 years (second year conditional)
